An addition, start to finish
-
Your project gets a start date. And a finish date.
Swiss Mountain Builders is a general contractor based in Etna, working both sides of the canyon. We build the projects that fall between a handyman and a custom home.
-
The slab.
Concrete, and everything that has to go under it first.
-
The frame.
Walls, then trusses. This is the week it looks fast.
-
Closed in.
Sheathed and roofed before the weather gets a vote.
-
Finished.
Siding and roof matched to the house you already had.

Every inquiry
Answered in 48 hours
A real person, on the phone or by email. Not a form receipt.
Before you owe anything
Scope, price and dates
Line item, in writing. You can take it to another builder and compare.
Job size we are built for
$50k to $500k
Big enough to need a real GC. Small enough that the big shops will not call you back.
What we build
Residential and light commercial, across two valleys.
Star Valley and Jackson Hole. If it needs a general contractor and it is not a ground up custom home, it is probably us.
Kitchens and baths
The most common job we take and the one most likely to go sideways when it is run loosely. Cabinets, tile, plumbing and electrical coordinated on one schedule.
02Additions and remodels
Adding square footage or reworking what is already there. This is where permitting and structural work decide the timeline, so we sort both before we quote.
03Garages, shops and barns
Detached structures where the slab, the doors and the utility runs are the whole job. Straightforward to price and quick to schedule.
04Decks, siding and exteriors
Everything that has to survive a Teton winter. Material choice matters more here than anywhere else on the house.
05Light commercial
Tenant finishes and small commercial buildouts where the landlord deadline is the real constraint. We build to the date on the lease.
06Repairs and problem jobs
The work another contractor left unfinished, or the thing that failed and needs somebody this month. Priced hourly or fixed, your call.

The joint you cannot see later is the one worth paying for.
How it works
Five steps. You know what happens in each one.
You send the basics
Photos, a rough scope, and when you want it done. Takes five minutes. No walkthrough required to get a first answer.
Same weekWe walk the job
One visit to see what is actually there. Half the surprises in construction come from the parts nobody looked at, so we look.
Week 1You get the number in writing
A line item scope, a fixed price or a clear allowance, and the start and finish dates. You have it on paper before you owe anything.
Week 2 to 3We build to the schedule
Subs booked, materials ordered, and a weekly update whether or not there is news. You always know what happens next week.
Per the contractWe finish and hand it over
A walkthrough, a punch list with dates on it, and the warranty terms. The job is not done until the list is empty.
Final weekA schedule, photographed
First wall to house wrap. Twelve days, photographed.
The animation at the top of this page is a drawing. These are not. They are in order, and every date below is the date the photograph was taken. 15 May to 27 May 2026, one job.
What it costs
A range you can plan around, before you call anyone.
These are planning numbers, not a price list. Every job gets quoted properly. But you should not have to book a sales call just to find out whether a project is in reach at all.

Send the basics and you get a real answer back, not a voicemail. If it is not a fit we will say so and point you somewhere better.
